Watermelon and grapes salad with 100% natural Nova Scotia Sea Salt
Heat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
On a baking sheet covered in parchment paper, spread a layer of Nova Scotia Sea Salt.
Place salt on center rack of oven and
Stir occasionally until the salt has dried to your liking
Our Nova Scotia Sea Salt is a 100% natural sea salt that is a finishing salt.
Our smoked sea salt is made from our natural sea salt with smoke from applewood chips.
Natural sea salt tastes clean and strong; so you don't need as much as table salt when using it for cooking.
Our solar-dried sea salt is a coarse, moist salt. It naturally absorbes moisture in the air as it has no anti-caking agents.
It is used by simply taking a pinch out of the wide-mouth jar. You can crush it with your fingers if you need our salt finer. Or you can crush the larger crystals with the back of a spoon or mortar and pestle. Don't use a salt grinder it will only clog it up!
Look after our sea salt by keeping the lid on the jar. If the salt gets too moist for your liking however, just dry it in the oven. We have some drying instructions below.
We make 2 kinds of Nova Scotia Sea Salt:
- 100% Natural Sea Salt with nothing added
- A Smoked Sea Salt from applewood chip smoke for a savoury unique flavour
